| 9/4/2024 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s football team returned to Schmidt Family Complex Practice Fields for a Wednesday morning practice session. The Owls worked through offense, defense, and special teams work as well as the same versus an Army scout team. FAU began the day with beautiful weather, worked through a South Florida shower, and ended their session under humid conditions, but nothing slowed the energy and focused prep. MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY Florida Atlantic’s football home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at FAU Stadium versus Army West Point. Sophomore tight end Zeke Moore is featured in “Pads Off” as well as the emotional reaction of walk-on LB Makai Sawtelle after he was awarded a scholarship, and in honor of Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, the story of graduate assistant coach Kyle Brady, who served five years in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain. RADIO SHOW The Florida Atlantic Coaches Show, presented by Duffy’s Sports Grill, debuts for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 12-1 p.m. at the Duffy’s Sports Grill on St. Andrew’s Boulevard in Boca Raton. The show then airs on the flagship station of the Florida Atlantic Sports Network, FOX Sports 640 South Florida, on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to attend and listen live as Herman and LaVicka discuss the team, the next week’s opponent, and other highlights across the department, while taking advantage of Duffy’s lunch and beverage specials.
