FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla – The reigning NCAA Division II National Champions Nova Southeastern Sharks, led by Head Coach Doug Neagle, have announced their 2024-25 schedule and will look to defend the program’s first national title.
“We have a lot of new faces this year, so it will be great to compete early at the PBA Fall Invitational. This will show our coaching staff where we are early on and what we need to work on,” said Neagle.
First serve on the 2024 fall schedule will be at the Palm Beach Atlantic Invitational beginning on Friday, September 13th. Neagle will lead the Sharks into the ITA Regional Championships, starting on Friday, September 27th, and NSU will compete at the ITA Cup National Championships starting on Thursday, October 10th. Nova Southeastern concludes its fall schedule with the Shark Bite Invite at the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills beginning on Friday, November 1st.
“Our spring season is full of tough competition with a lot of nationally ranked teams,” continued Neagle. “I love playing such a challenging schedule because that is what you want as a competitor. Facing adversity throughout the season is what prepares us for postseason play.”
The Sharks return to competition for the winter semester against St. Thomas University on Tuesday, February 4th. NSU hosts Rollins in the Sunshine State Conference opener on Saturday, February 8th and follow with a match against Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach on Tuesday, February 11th. NSU returns for three consecutive home matches against Florida National (2/13), Keiser (2/18), and a Sunshine State Conference home match versus Florida Southern (2/22). The Sharks continue SSC play against Tampa on Tuesday, February 25th and close out the month with a home match against Charleston on Thursday, February 27th.
Nova Southeastern begins March with a spring break tournament in Pensacola with three in-region matches against West Florida (¾), West Alabama (3/6), and Auburn-Montgomery (3/7). NSU hosts Wayne State, in a rematch of the national quarterfinals, on Tuesday, March 11th, and Hillsdale on Wednesday, March 12th. Nova Southeastern travels to St. Augustine for a pair of weekend matches against Flagler (3/15) and Nebraska, Kearney (3/16). Sunshine State Conference play resumes on Saturday, March 29th, against Embry-Riddle and Eckerd (3/30). The final stretch of the regular season begins against Saint Leo (4/1), before taking on Columbus State in a neutral-site match on Saturday, April 5th. The Sharks face-off against Barry, in a rematch of the NCAA national championship game, on Thursday, April 10th, in Miami Shores. The final match of the regular season is against Lynn at the NSU Tennis Complex at Rollin Hills, on Tuesday, April 15th. Postseason play begins with the Sunshine State Conference Championship tournament on Friday, April 25th, followed by the NCAA South Regional Tournament starting on Monday, May 12th. The national championship tournament will take place at Sanlando Park, starting on Wednesday, May 21st.
