Miami-Dade County has activated the Emergency Operations Center to Level 2

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has activated the County’s Emergency Operations Center to a Level 2 Partial Activation in anticipation of additional rainfall expected in the afternoon.
The Partial Activation will allow the County’s Department of Emergency Management to coordinate key resources to further serve and mitigate the impacts in the most vulnerable areas currently affected by flooding, especially in the northeast of the County.
“As we prepare for additional rain this afternoon, I’m doing everything in my power to make sure we have all the resources available and ready to deploy immediately,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “The impacts of the flooding have been localized in the most vulnerable areas and we want to make sure we can protect our residents in need.”
Last night, Mayor Levine Cava declared a local state of emergency in Miami-Dade out of an abundance of caution. This measure gives us the opportunity to respond faster, during or after the weather event, to the community’s needs and provides quicker access to state and federal resources.
