CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced the 2023-24 student-athlete and coach awards, as well as the All-America teams on Friday afternoon. No. 6 Nova Southeastern had a pair of student-athletes recognized, as Ellen Andersson (Second-Team) and Maia Samuelsson (Honorable Mention) both earned All-American honors.
Andersson was dominant throughout the 2023-24 campaign, accumulating a record of 666-239-21 across 13 events during the season. Andersson opened the season with a pair of wins, first at the South Region Preview, where she posted a (-2/69/72/73/214) and followed with a (-5/71/68/72/211) at the Saint Leo Invitational. Andersson finished the season with a scoring average of 73.6 and ranked as the 20th golfer in NCAA Division II. Andersson was recognized as a First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference member.
Samuelsson, in her first season as a Shark, totaled five top-10 finishes during the 2023-24 season, including winning the World Golf Invitational (-1/70/74/73/217) and accumulating a record of 669-232-25. Samuelsson placed third at the Sunshine State Conference Championships (+4/74/74/72/218). Samuelsson was ranked as the No. 14 women’s golfer in the South Region, holding a scoring average of 73.7. Samuelsson was also honored with Second-Team All-Sunshine State Conference recognition.
