FB | Game Day Change, Times and Media Outlets Announced

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic football’s 2024 opening kick is less than three months away. While the Owls continue to prepare for the second season under Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Tom Herman, the American Athletic Conference and its television partners announced selected game times and TV designations on Thursday.
The announcement has the Owls playing on national TV at least five times in 2024, with two games on ESPN or ESPN2, two others on CBS Sports Network, one on Big Ten Network with two on ESPN+. The remaining five game times and media outlet will be announced no later than 12 days prior to those contests.The season opener at Michigan State has been moved to Friday, Aug. 30, placing the Owls on the Big Ten Network in a 7 p.m. prime-time national television time slot.Florida Atlantic returns to Boca Raton for its home opener versus Army West Point scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 at 12 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Owls remain home to host FIU and the Shula Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

Florida Atlantic makes the program’s second trip to Storrs, Connecticut, on Saturday, Sept. 21 to face Connecticut. The game airs on CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m. Back in Paradise for Family Weekend on Sept. 28, the Owls welcome Wagner at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.The final two game times announced are the Friday, Nov. 1 Homecoming matchup in Boca Raton, featuring in-state conference member South Florida, airing on ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m., along with the Thursday, Nov. 7th game at East Carolina. The Owls’ contest at ECU will be featured on either ESPN or ESPN2 at 8 p.m.

Ken LaVicka returns to anchor the radio team as your play-by-play announcer while Mike Mreczko returns as the pre and post-game host. The radio broadcast will be carried live each week on Fox Sports South Florida 640 AM.
