The City of Pompano Beach is partnering with the National Weather Service to host the 2024 Hurricane Season Kick-Off Event on Wednesday, June 5th, at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held in the City of Pompano Beach Commission Chambers at 100 W. Atlantic Boulevard.
The Hurricane Season Kick-Off Event will feature a special presentation by the highly respected Miami/South Florida National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Robert Molleda. His insights and forecasts, which are invaluable for our community’s preparedness, will be shared. The event will also include a welcome from Mayor Rex Hardin, important information from the City’s Fire Chief and Emergency Management Division, and a showcase of the useful tools the City offers to help you stay informed before, during and after a storm.

The Atlantic hurricane season is the period in a year, from June 1st through November 30th, when tropical or subtropical cyclones are most likely to form in the North Atlantic Ocean.
