The Bulls improved 10 shots from the first round.
BERMUDA RUN, N.C., May 7, 2024 – The University of South Florida women’s golf team improved 10 shots from the first round, shooting a 290 (+2) in the second round of the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional in Bermuda Run, N.C. The 34th-ranked Bulls are in ninth place heading into the final round.
Play resumes with the third round in the 54-hole event on Wednesday, May 8 at 8:00 AM (ET). The Bulls’ tee times are between 8:55 and 9:39 AM (ET) off the first tee. The top five teams in the 12-team field and the low individual not on an advancing team will advance to play in the NCAA championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California May 17-22.
The Bulls were led by 20th-ranked senior Melanie Green, the AAC Women’s Golf Player of the Year. Green made four birdies in shooting 71 (-1), a one-shot improvement from her first round. She moved up four spots on the leaderboard and stands tied for 18th. Green has now shot par or better in 31 of 32 rounds on the season.
Graduate student transfer Alyssa Montgomery also shot under par, carding a 71 (-1). Montgomery made three birdies on the front nine and one on the back, she jumped eight spots on the leaderboard is tied for 35th.
Freshman Emma Falcher shot 74 (+2), matching her opening round and is tied for 37th.
Senior Alizee Vidal saw the biggest improvement from the opening round, shooting 74 (+2), bettering her first-round score by five shots. Vidal is tied for 54th, seven spots higher than after the first round.
Junior Leonor Medeiros shot 83 (+11) and is in 64thth place.

About USF Women’s Golf
The 2023-24 campaign is the Bulls’ sixth full season under head coach Erika Brennan. South Florida is among the fastest-rising programs in the country, as they climbed 75 spots in the national Golfstat rankings following Brennan’s first season in 2018-19. The Bulls have earned two NCAA Regional bids, in 2022-23 and 2023-24, and have captured six tournament titles under Brennan, while setting numerous program scoring records under her leadership. Senior standout Melanie Green, the AAC Conference Player of the Year in 2023-24, has been an all-conference performer in each of her first four seasons, qualified for the 2022 NCAA Regional as an individual and was named a 2023 All-American Honorable Mention. Green and the Bulls reached the NCAA Regional as a team in 2023, marking the program’s first postseason appearance in 11 years.
