The City of Miramar is celebrating major renovations of a park.
The Henry D. Perry Park, located in historic Miramar, received major improvements. The City of Miramar invested over $5 million in improvements to ensure the park serves all members of the community, from seniors to children.
The newly renovated park includes a new running track, a brand-new playground, exercise equipment, soccer field, table tennis tables, walking trail, and new restrooms. The basketball courts and racquetball courts were also renovated.
The Broward County School Board and the City of Miramar partnered on this project, significantly making contributions to its successful completion.
“We are thrilled to see the completion of the Henry D. Perry Park and the transformative impact it will have on our students and community,” Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Peter B. Licata said. “This project demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional facilities for all Broward County students.” The City of Miramar invites the community to come out to the grand re-opening event, which features family fun activities to showcase the beauty and functionality of the renovated facility. From interactive exhibits to delicious treat, attendees can expect a memorable experience that highlights the significance of this collaboration.
“The City of Miramar is proud to unveil the Henry D. Perry Park in east Miramar,” City Manager Dr. Roy Virgin said. “This project exemplifies what can be achieved when we work together to invest in our community and create spaces that empower residents of all ages to healthy habits while enjoying our parks.”
