TAMPA, Fla., April 27, 2024 –The University of South Florida softball team (31-19, 11-12 AAC) fell to the Florida Atlantic Owls (37-13, 17-6 AAC) to even the series on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls lost with a final score of 10-8.
Florida Atlantic took the 6-0 lead in the first three innings.
South Florida scored four runs in the third inning to cut Florida Atlantic’s lead to two. A single, hit by pitch, and walk loaded the bases for Alanah Rivera (St. Petersburg). Rivera knocked a two-RBI single to get the Bulls on the board.
With two runners on base, DaNia Brooks (Tampa) cleared the bases with a double to bring South Florida within two runs.
The Owls extended their lead to 9-4 in the fourth inning. After a leadoff walk from Galligani, Olivia Elliott (Tampa) hit an RBI triple for the Bull’s fifth run. South Florida added its sixth run in the fifth inning on an RBI single from Elliott.
Florida Atlantic scored its 10th run in the seventh inning.
With the bases loaded in the seventh inning, Rian Eigenmann (Millville, N.J.) hit a two-RBI double to cut Florida Atlantic’s lead to 10-8.
Three pitchers made an appearance in the circle, Belle Sardja (Gibsonton), Lexie Kopko (Stewartstown, Pa.), and Alex Wright (Auburndale).

- Brooks hit her sixth double of the season.
- Trivelpiece led the Bulls, earning three walks.
