UF WBK: Leilani Correa Prepares for 2024 WNBA Draft

After an incredibly successful season with the Gators, Senior guard, Leilani Correa is projected to be drafted Monday night in the 2024 WNBA draft. Correa led the SEC in scoring and owns over 2,000+ collegiate career points.

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Leilani Correa<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/leilani-correa/16027>, the 2024 SEC Sixth-Woman of the year will enter the 2024 WNBA Draft. Correa would be the 20th Gator selected in the WNBA Draft and the first Florida women’s basketball player since Kiara Smith in 2022, selected by the Connecticut Sun.

Correa transferred to Florida after her junior year at St. John’s. The New Jersey native became one of the most consistent scorers on the floor for Florida, averaging 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in the 2022-2023 season and 16.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game in the 2023-2024 season.

During the most recent season Correa put up impressive number for the Gators and led the Southeastern Conference in scoring. Correa recorded 27 games in double-figures, had three consecutive 30+ point performances, and hit 2,000+ career points.
