DENTON, Texas.– The Florida Atlantic softball team (33-10, 13-4 AAC) tied the series at 1-1 with the Mean Green in a 6-4 victory on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Owls improve their record to 33-10 and 13-4 in the American Athletic Conference. After the afternoon game, Florida Atlantic remains first in the AAC standings.
THE GAME
The Owls took the lead early in the game by scoring three runs in the second inning. To extend the lead in the fourth, Catcher Kate de Leon hit her first home run of the season.
North Texas answered back in the bottom of the fourth and scored two runs on a home run.
Graduate Trinity Schlotterbeck started in the circle for Florida Atlantic. Schlotterbeck picked up another win and improved her record to 14-3 on the season. She threw another complete game, her fifth of the season.
