Archer earns her first career SEC weekly honor as all three Gators golf freshmen won the weekly award this season.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida women’s golfer Inès Archer was named the SEC Freshman of the week the league office announced. The honor comes after her play in the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic where she finished T-2.
The weekly conference honor is the first of her career and marks the eighth for the Gators this season as all three freshmen (Paula Francisco and Sophie Stevens) have earned the first-year SEC accolade.
Archer shot a season-low 54-hole score of 213 (-3) to help lead the Gators to a second-place finish in Athens. The native of Rennes, France, she recorded a career best finish (T2) along with career best in single round score with a five under 67 in round two. She also averaged 3.93 (-2) on par-4s and 4.83 (-2) on par-5s.
The Gators will travel to Belleair, Fla. to compete in the SEC Championship from April 12-16.
