Florida tennis will enter April as the thirteenth ranked team in the nation. The Gators have four ranked singles players, including No. 13 Rachel Gailis. On the doubles side, Malwina Rowinska and Alicia Dudeney have earned a spot in the top 30, boasting an undefeated 5-0 record.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Women’s Tennis continues to see success in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings as they move to No. 13. With the updated rankings, the Gators also have their first ranked doubles pair since November, 2023. In singles, Florida now has four players in the nation’s top 125.
As of March 31, the Gators have an overall record of 12-7 and an 8-2 record in conference action. Florida has posted wins against several ranked opponents, No. 63 LSU (4-0), No. 16 Tennessee (5-2), No. 13 Auburn (4-1), No. 17 Alabama (4-0), No. 51 Arkansas (6-1), and No. 30 Ole Miss (4-3).
Doubles pair Malwina Rowinska and Alicia Dudeney broke into the ITA rankings at No. 30. This marks the first time Florida has had a duo ranked since November 15, 2023. The duo holds a 5-0 record since being paired up during SEC play. Rowinska and Dudeney have defeated three nationally ranked doubles pairs, No. 36 Morgan Cross/ Anet Koskel (Arkansas), No. 53 Inah Canete/ Mae Canete (Missouri), and No. 64 Ava Hrsatar/ Briana Crowley (Ole Miss).
Rachel Gailis<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/rachel-gailis/16143> who has had an impressive 7-1 singles run, moved from rounding out the top 15 to closing in on the top 10. Gailis is currently on a six-match win streak with five nationally ranked wins under her belt. The sophomore has defeated No. 83 Petra Sedlackova (Alabama), No. 29 Dasha Vidmanova (Georgia), No. 27 Sofia Cabezas (Tennessee) and No. 31 Carolina Gomez (Arkansas). Gailis also secured the biggest win of her career to date with a 6-2, 6-3 straight-set win over No. 14 Carolyn Ansari (Auburn). Gailis will now enter the weekend as the 13th-ranked collegiate player.
Despite falling in ITA rankings, Sara Dahlstrom<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/sara-dahlstrom/16140> finds herself sitting at No. 64. Dahlstrom is now 4-1 and posted wins against nationally ranked No. 29 Mia Kupres (Texas A&M) and No. 25 Alexandra Vecic (Georgia). Dahlstrom is 2-0 in ranked wins.
Freshman Qavia Lopez<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/qavia-lopez/16283> holds the No.119 spot with an 18-9 overall record and a 6-2 SEC record. Lopez’s most recent victories were against Esther Adeshina (Tennessee) and Adeline Flach (Auburn).
Florida senior, Carly Briggs moved to No. 86, a small drop from her previous No. 84 ranking. Briggs holds an 11-14 overall record and a 5-2 SEC record. Briggs has posted one win against nationally ranked No. 68 Mell Reasco (Georgia) and is currently on a 3-match win streak.
