GAINESVILLE, Fla. – She started the Gator soccer program in 1995. In the program’s fourth season, the Gators stunned the nation by winning the NCAA team title.
Wednesday afternoon, it was Becky Burleigh’s<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-soccer/roster/coaches/becky-burleigh/734> turn to be stunned.
Her talk with the current Gator team during a spring season seminar was interrupted by two Florida Athletics Hall of Fame soccer players – Danielle Fotopoulos<https://floridagators.com/news/2008/4/11/13818.aspx> and Sarah Yohe Cohen<https://floridagators.com/news/2014/3/8/27519>.
The two who provided both of Florida’s goals in 1998 NCAA College Cup action shared the ‘why’ they were crashing Burleigh’s talk.
Burleigh is part of the UF Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024 as an Honorary Letterwinner.
