FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 1 South Florida shot 52 percent from the field and defeated No. 8 East Carolina in the quarterfinals of the 2024 American Men’s Basketball Championship on Friday, March 15 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
With the win, the Bulls (24-6) move on to their first appearance in the American semifinals and will face the winner of No. 12 Wichita State and No. 4 UAB on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
The Bulls hit 14 3-pointers and were 30-of-58 from the field overall (51.7 percent), while holding East Carolina (15-18) to 36.2 percent shooting (21-of-58).
South Florida’s Kobe Knox and Selton Miguel each scored 17 points, while Kasean Pryor and Chris Youngblood each added 10 points. Pryor had a double-double with 10 rebounds.
RJ Felton led East Carolina with 16 points, while Brandon Johnson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
