USF Softball: USF Softball Heads to Oklahoma For First Conference Road Test

TAMPA, March 14, 2024– The University of South Florida softball team will head to Oklahoma for its first conference road test of the season. The Bulls will take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane this Friday through Sunday.

The Bulls are coming off their fourth extra-inning win on Tuesday. South Florida defeated the Colgate Raiders, 3-2, in the eighth inning. Alex Wilkes (Tampa) singled up the middle for her first walk-off hit.

South Florida has the third-highest RPI ranking in the American Athletic Conference with 53. Wichita State is 41, while Charlotte is the highest at 13. Florida Atlantic, Tulsa, and North Texas are also in the top 100. The Owls and Golden Hurricane are right behind the Bulls at 54 and 55, respectively. North Texas rounds out the rankings at 58.

Olivia Elliott (Tampa) has proven to be the toughest to strike out. In 67 plate appearances, she has only struck out once. She is the fourth toughest to strike out in the nation and the toughest to strike out in the AAC.

Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) was two strikeouts away from matching her career-high of 13 strikeouts against the FGCU Eagles on Monday. She has a total of 79 on the season, leading the conference and ranking 20th in the nation. Belle Sardja (Gibsonton) is second in the nation in innings pitched. She has pitched 88.0 innings, leading the conference.
