Men’s Basketball – #1 Sharks Advance to SSC Final with Victory over Lynn

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – For the third consecutive season, the top-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Men’s Basketball team has advanced to the Sunshine State Conference tournament championship. The Sharks defeated the fourth-seed Lynn Fighting Knights 124-89 on Thursday night at the Rick Case Arena. Seven Sharks scored in double digits; Isaiah Fuller, fresh off being named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second-Team, and Mike Moore led the offense as both scored 17 points.

NSU set a Sunshine State Conference tournament record, scoring 124 points in the win.  

No. 1 Nova Southeastern has now won 60 consecutive home games, dating back to February 2020.

How it Happened

First Half – MJ IraldiIsaiah Fuller and Shane Hunter got the scoring started early, leading the Sharks on an 8-2 run. A few moments later, Mike Moore set up a GianFranco Grafals with a fast-break lay-up and put NSU ahead 14-4. Lynn got back into the game, cutting the score to 23-18, but buckets from Doomes and Moore put the Sharks ahead 28-18. Later in the half, a 10-0 run which featured back-to-back three-pointers from Ryan Davis and Fuller, gave Nova Southeastern a 53-35 lead with less than two minutes left in the half. NSU went into the halftime break with a 60-45 advantage.  

Second Half – Following the break, Ryker Cisarik knocked down a three-pointer of his own and added another point with a free throw, giving the Sharks a 65-45 lead early in the second half. Moore hit a pair of three-pointers, keeping NSU in the lead with a 73-52 score. Nova Southeastern opened a 30-point lead following a fast-break three-point bucket by Ryan Davis, putting the score at 84-54. Moore added two more three-pointers, putting NSU over the 100-point mark with over five minutes remaining in the game. Tommy Sala finished off the record-setting performance in the Sunshine State Conference tournament, hitting a three-pointer and sealed the 124-87 win over Lynn.
