GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Tennis returns to action in Linder Stadium at Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on Friday, March 1 at 5 p.m. against No. 12 Texas A&M. The match is slated for 5 p.m. and marks the start of Southeastern Conference play, where 11 conference teams are ranked in ITA’s top 75 teams.
Florida boasts 11 SEC regular season titles, as well as six SEC Tournament championships since the event began in 1990. The Gators most recently claimed each in 2022 after a perfect 12-0 regular season and 3-0 tournament run
On Texas A&M
The No. 12 Texas A&M Aggies enter Friday’s match with a 9-2 record.
The Aggies hold an 11-8 edge over the Gators in the all-time series. The two most recently met last April in College Station, Texas, with the Aggies claiming victory, 4-3.
The 2024 Aggies squad starts a lineup that features four upperclassmen tabbed for singles play, including the reigning SEC Player of the week, No. 69 Raphael Perot.
Last time out
The Gators’ last contest was a 6-1 victory over then-undefeated Central Florida, where the Orange and Blue showcased their superior depth by claiming courts 2-6 in singles. The Gators claimed the doubles point against the Knights, their second consecutive match having claimed the coveted first point.
