Gators Return to Auburn for Last Chance Meet
The Auburn Invitational – Last Chance will take place March 1-2.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Recently crowned back-to-back SEC Swimming & Diving Champions, the Florida’s men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams head back to James E. Martin Aquatic Center, where 14 Gators will compete at the Auburn Invitational – Last Chance Meet this Friday and Saturday in Auburn, AL.
Last chance meets, held after conference championships, are designed to give swimmers that are on the edge of NCAA qualification one last opportunity to improve times and odds at selection.
Among the travel party include Peter Bretzmann, Eric Brown, Camille DeBoer, Billy Jones, Madison Kolessar, Caroline Pennington, Julia Podkoscielny, Grace Rainey and Sean Sullivan, who competed at last week’s SEC Championships. The nine swimmers recorded 32 B-cut times throughout their prelim and final heats as well as 22 top-20 finishes. Anna Moore and Josh Parent were also present as alternates.
Former SEC Champion Amro Al-Wir and freshmen Bobby Dinunzio and Caleb Maldari will also make the trek north after not competing last week.
Prelims will begin at 11 a.m. ET on both Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. Finals are set for 6 p.m. ET on Friday, and 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. Results can be followed along on MeetoMobile.
