| 2/21/2024 | Softball BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s softball team will face Boston College, Rhode Island, FGCU, and Columbia in the second annual Owl Classic. This tournament will take place from Thursday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 25. This marks the second year Florida Atlantic hosts different teams in South Florida. THE LAST TIME OUT Florida Atlantic will face Boston College in its first game of the tournament. These two programs have faced each other nines times in program history. The Owls lead the series 5-4. On Friday, they will compete against Rhode Island and the Eagles of FGCU. The Owls last faced Rhode Island in 2004 in Boca Raton, Fla., FAU leads their series 8-2. The last time the Eagles faced the Owls was last season where FAU went 0-2 in the series. Florida Atlantic has faced the Lions of Columbia four times in program history and leads the series 3-1. The last matchup the Owls fell 7-5 in extra innings.
