FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- In a battle of the top-ranked NCAA Division II women’s tennis programs, the No. 2 Nova Southeastern Sharks and the No. 1 Barry Buccaneers faced off on Saturday morning at the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills. The Sharks fell to the Buccaneers 5-2, losing their first match of the 2024 season.

Doubles
Natalie Espinal and Freya Davies earned the first win of the match for the Sharks, defeating Nathalia Gasparin and Clara Versier 6-2
Patricie Kubikova annd Ita Habekovic added another doubles victory for the Sharks, ceiling the doubles point for NSU, by beating Angela Leweurs and Maia Haumuller 6-3
Singles
Natalie Espinal added the second point for the Sharks, earning a victory over Ailen Crespo, 6-4, 6-1
Freya Davies lost against Michalitsch 3-6, 6-4, 6-10
Lian Benedejcic fell versus Alloiarova 3-6, 3-6
Sofia Shing was defeated by Dema 1-6, 6(0)-7(4)
Ita Habekovic was beaten by Versier 6-7, 4-5
Julia Moraes lost against Leweurs 3-6, 2-6
