The 2023 Conference USA Pitcher of the Year gave up a lead-off single, then retired the next three batters and never looked back. Freshman shortstop Kiley Channell had a lead-off triple to open the bottom of the second and was driven in by newcomer Katelyn de Leon’s single. Sacco protected the 2-0 lead with zeros in the third and fourth and then watched FAU plate six runs by capitalizing on three walks, two hit batters, an error, and a Trinty Schlotterbeck double. Sacco returned to the circle for the fifth with the Owls up by an 8-0 margin. Three batters later, the Owls had the win.
