Saturday, February 10 will feature multiple games with teams competing for the top spot in The American. Charlotte will travel to East Carolina at 2 p.m. ET, while South Florida will head to Philadelphia to take on Temple at 3 p.m. ET. The night will end with 7-3 Tulsa traveling to Houston to take on 6-4 Rice at 6:30 p.m. ET. All game will air on ESPN+.
BLAZERS CATCH FIRE FROM DEEP
UAB defeated Tulane on Wednesday, 94-77 behind 20 three-pointers. The twenty threes are the second most in an American game in conference history and just one behind the record. Maddie Walsh led the charge, scoring 28 points, which included going 8-for-10 from behind the arc. Ashton Elley scored 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep.
GOLDEN HURRICANE AND PIRATES HITTING STRIDE
Tulsa and East Carolina have both found their stride over the past few weeks. The Golden Hurricane have moved into to the standings after winning five of their past six games, while the Pirates are just one game back, winners of four of their past five games.
STINGY DEFENSE
The American features three schools ranked in the Top 35 of the NCAA in field goal percentage defense. UTSA leads the way at 22nd (.363), followed by Tulsa (28th; .366), North Texas (33rd; .367).
