UF WGOLF | Gators Move to No. 9, Filler No. 2 in NCAA Rankings

Maisie Filler reached the No. 2 overall ranking after going 3-0 in the spring opener.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team moved up to No. 9 while Maisie Filler was tabbed the No. 2 player in the country in the official NCAA Rankings.

The Gators opened up the spring season with a third-place finish at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. Due to weather the tournament was switched to match play that saw the Gators finish 2-1 with ranked victories over No. 4 UCLA (3-2) and No. 20 Pepperdine (4-1). UF’s loss (3-2) came to No. 8 Texas.

Maisie Filler finished undefeated (3-0) on the weekend and now owns a 6-2-1 match play record. Her victory in the semifinals was against No. 21 Lauren Kim of the Longhorns.

Freshmen Inès Archer and Sophie Stevens both ended 2-1 in their first collegiate match play competition.

Florida returns to the ‘Sunshine State’ with the Moon Golf Invitational from Feb. 18-20 and the Gators Invitational March 2-3.
