UF T&F: Gators Diverge for Fourth and Final Indoor Regular Season Meet

Athletes will attend both the Tyson Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For their final regular season meet of the indoor season, the Florida Gators Track & Field program will split and attend both the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.

LAST TIME OUT
Two weeks prior to this weekend’s upcoming action, the Florida Gators participated in the Razorback Invitational where both the Women’s DMR and Men’s 4x400m headlined each day of action.

In the last event on Friday, the Women’s Distance Medley Relay team of Elise Thorner, Laila Owens, Jess Edwards, and Flomena Asekol broke the Indoor School Record as they finished with a time of 10:52.06.

On Saturday, the Men’s 4x400m team took home first place in come from behind fashion recording a time of 3:04.08 which stands as the fastest time in the NCAA in 2024. Reheem Hayles, Wanya McCoy, Ashton Schwartzman and Jevaughn Powell were trailing Arkansas when Powell took the baton. The redshirt-senior from Clarendon, Jamaica made up ground to the tune of a 45.04 split and snatched the first place finish.

The Gators will send 49 athletes (29 men, 20 women) to Arkansas while sending five (1 man, 4 women) to Boston for this weekends’ meet.
