The freshman earns her fifth weekly award of the season.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida’s diver Ana Monroy was named Women’s SEC Diver of the Week, as announced by the Conference Tuesday afternoon.
The standout freshman from Laz Paz, Mexico swept the women’s diving events in last week’s win against in-state rival Florida State. She set two collegiate bests – 345.00 on 3-meter and 323.33 on platform. Her 323.33 surpassed her previous best (312.80), which ranked No. 1 for platform in the CSCAA Division I top scores. She also posted the top score on the 1-meter with a 302.45.
This marks her fifth career SEC weekly Honor and is the 23rd SEC weekly award the Gators have earned during the 2023-24 season, the most in the conference.
Florida hosts the 2024 Florida Invitational this Thursday, Feb. 1 that goes through Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Anne Marie Rogers Natatorium, inside the O’Connell Center. This will be the last time the Gators compete before heading to Auburn, Alabama for SEC Championships from Feb. 20-24. The men’s team is looking for its 13th-straight SEC title, while the women go for back-to-back SEC Champions.
