Greg Ambrosius is the President of National Fantasy Football Championship. The NFFC which has been around for many years is mired in scandal at the moment. They run big stake fantasy football contests.
This is not the first scandal involving legalized sports gambling and fantasy that has hit the news in the past few years. Each time a scandal hits the news it gives those who are anti-gambling and conspiracy theorists legs to stand on.
If you missed it, one of the NFFC employees made a change to a lineup that was live and inserted a player who already scored a touchdown. The NFFC acted swiftly and fired the employee and banned the contestant from any future events. Matthew Berry vouched for Greg’s character while also stating that they should run a full investigation of any contest ever run and make restitution to anyone that may have won if more cheating is found.
This is a situation, with any game, where employees can have access to the databases and be in position to make changes. Employees need to be vetted and there needs to be a system put into place to protect the contestants from any shenanigans on the gaming company, the employees or any other contestant. The odds are this is a one-off situation but the last thing you want as a gaming operator is your reputation tarnished as there are many other operators out there looking to strike and seize away your customer base.
