Tampa, Fla. Jan. 9, 2023 – South Florida women’s basketball (10-6, 2-1) hosts Tulsa (12-4, 2-1), on Wednesday night at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the action will stream live on ESPN+.
SETTING THE STAGE
South Florida has captured three of its last five contests, as it returns to the Yuengling Center before heading out for a two-game swing trip in Texas. Tulsa has won two of its last three games to open the league play, before falling to Temple, 58-48, on Saturday.
THE SOUTH FLORIDA-TULSA SERIES
The Bulls have captured all 12 meetings with the Golden Hurricane and the all-time series began during the 2014-15 season. USF captured the last clash, a 93-83 Bulls win, in Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2023).
LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy collared a career-best 32-point showing in South Florida’s gritty, 70-63 win against Tulane in New Orleans, La. on Saturday. Levy’s 32-point performance marked the highest output by a Bull this season. Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt (10 points, 12 rebounds) added her third double-double performance of the season.
BULL LEADERS
South Florida is led by freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh (13.9 ppg). Blasigh (44 3PM) is ranked 12th nationally in total 3-pointers made. Levy (10.9 ppg) is the second Bull averaging double-digit points. Levy earned AAC Honor Roll with back-to-back career-highs – 24 points against Charlotte and 32 points in the win at Tulane. Lutje Schipholt leads on the glass with 7.5 rebounds per contest, which ranks 7th in the American. Redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson dishes out a team-best 4.2 assists per contest. Wilson’s 67 total assists rank third in the American.
