IN THE RANKINGS

Memphis moved up four spots to No. 15 in the latest AP Top 25, while Florida Atlantic comes in at No. 17. The Tigers and Owls are also ranked 15th and 17th in the USA Today Coaches Poll, respectively.

CRANKING UP THE DEFENSE

North Texas ranks fourth in the country in scoring defense at 59.2 points per game allowed, while Tulane ranks 11th in the nation with 10.4 steals per contest. SMU ranks second nationally in field goal percentage defense at 36.2 percent.

TAKING ADVANTAGE FROM THE CHARITY STRIPE

Tulane ranks first in the nation in both free throws made per game (22.0) and free throws attempted per game (29.6).

OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY

Vladislav Goldin of Florida Atlantic is shooting 73.6 percent from the field, which ranks first in the nation with five or more field goals made per game.

Tulane ranks fourth in the nation as a team, shooting 51.5 percent from the field, while Florida Atlantic is 18th at 49.9 percent. The Green Wave is also seventh in the country in scoring at 89.3 points per game.

RUNNING OF THE BULLS

With South Florida’s 76-68 win over Temple on January 4, the Bulls have won six games in a row for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

South Florida head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim also became the first Bull leader to win his first regular season game and first conference contest.
