USF Football: 2024 Conference Schedule Set

Bulls will host Navy, Memphis, UAB and Tulsa along with Miami (Fla.) & Bethune-Cookman in the non-con

TAMPA, DEC. 13, 2023 – As first-year head coach Alex Golesh and the Bulls prepare for the programs first bowl game since 2018 in the Boca Raton Bowl, the American Athletic Conference announced home and away conference opponents for the 2024 season.

With the addition of Army to the conference in 2024 and the departure of SMU, the 14-team scheduling model was adjusted. Dates for the games will be announced in February.

The Bulls will square off in home games at Raymond James Stadium vs. Memphis, Navy, Tulsa and UAB. Memphis finished 9-3 this season and earned a Liberty Bowl berth.

Meanwhile, the Bulls will travel to contests at Charlotte, FAU, Rice and Tulane. Rice (First Responder Bowl) and Tulane (Military Bowl) both earned bowl eligibility this year as Tulane’s 2022 conference title defense ended when the Green Wave fell to SMU in the 2023 AAC Championship game. The Bulls, who will play in the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 21, will face three of the conferences other five 2023 bowl eligible teams next season.

Those eight conference opponents will join four previously announced non-conference contests, starting with the Bulls opening the 2024 campaign vs. Bethune-Cookman in Tampa on Aug. 31. USF will travel to 2023 CFP Playoff participant Alabama (Sept. 7) and Southern Mississippi (Sept. 14) before returning home to face Miami (Fla.) back in Raymond James Stadium on Sept. 21.

Future non-conference schedules also include notable home dates vs. Boise State (2025), Louisville (2027), Notre Dame (2029) and NC State (2029).

USF will continue one of the top turnarounds in college football when South Florida (6-6; 4-4 American) makes the program’s 11th bowl appearance when the Bulls take on Syracuse (6-6; 2-6 ACC) in the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl on Thur., Dec. 21 at FAU Stadium (30,000) in Boca Raton, Fla.

The game kicks off at 8 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN.
