1,000 POINT CLUB
Tulsa’s Temira Poindexter became the 53rd American Athletic Conference player to score 1,000 career points in the conference. She accomplished the feat on Dec. 1 when she scored 15 points against TCU. Poindexter currently sits at 1,004 career points.
GRIGGS FROM BEHIND THE ARC
Memphis 5th Year guard Madison Griggs is just four made three-pointers shy from becoming the third American Athletic Conference player to make 300+ career three-pointers. She is third all-time behind only Katie Lou Samuelson (UConn, 2015-19) and Kitija Laksa (South Florida, 2015-19).
TIGERS REACH TRIPLE DIGITS
The Memphis Tigers offense exploded in the win over Troy last Saturday (Dec. 2), scoring 100 points in the game. It marks the first time since last season (Nov. 12, 2022, vs Howard) that the Tigers have reached the century mark and they become the fourth team in The American this year to score in triple digits (North Texas – 117, Temple – 109, East Carolina – 105).
DEFENSIVE PRESSURE
The American currently boasts five teams ranked in the Top 50 in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense. Charlotte leads the pack at 23rd (.339), followed by North Texas (26th, .341), South Florida (35th, .348), UTSA (45th, .350) and Florida Atlantic (49th, .354).
