IN THE RANKINGS

Florida Atlantic has been tabbed No. 13 in the latest Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 and No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Memphis is receiving votes in both polls.

ESPN EVENTS INVITATIONAL CHAMPS

Florida Atlantic picked up the ESPN Events Invitational championship by defeating Butler, then-No. 12 Texas A&M and Virginia Tech. The Owls averaged 90.3 points per game and closed with a 34-point win over the Hokies (84-50). Alijah Martin was named the MVP after averaging 18.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

GOLDIN’S EFFICIENCY

Vladislav Goldin of Florida Atlantic ranks fifth in the nation in field goal percentage at 72.7 percent.

DOUBLING UP

Charlotte’s Igor Milicic Jr has recorded four double-doubles and is tied for fifth in the nation.

CRANKING UP THE DEFENSE

Tulane ranks fifth in the nation with 12.0 steals per contest and is second in turnover margin at +8.6 per game.

Wichita State’s Quincy Ballard is sixth in the nation in blocks with 2.86 per game. Ballard had seven blocks against Norfolk State on November 25, the most for the Shockers since 2013.

Temple ranks second in the nation in free throw percentage at 84.8 percent.
