BOCA RATON, Fla. – After helping lead the Owls to their second American Athletic Conference sweep of the season, Valeria Rosado is the AAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The honor marks the first AAC Player of the Week award for the Owls and the first for Rosado.
Valeria Rosado had a huge week defensively, anchoring the Owls’ back row during their series sweep against the Charlotte 49ers. Rosado tied for second on the team with 29 digs, averaging 3.22 per set, while also recording an impressive seven blocks, in addition to posting 27 kills, averaging 3.0 per set throughout the series. She recorded her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season over the two matches. In Friday’s contest, Rosado tied for a team second-best 13 kills, while also adding 11 digs and a pair of blocks, including a solo block. She then finished the week with 18 digs and five blocks in the Owls’ series finale against the 49ers.

The Owls return home for their final home series of the regular season, hosting the USF Bulls on Thursday, Nov. 16 and on Friday, Nov. 17 for senior day inside Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.
