The women’s program also continues to hold possession of the No. 1 spot in the South Region.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators Women’s Cross Country team rises to No. 7 in the newest edition of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Coaches’ Poll.
The team’s continued rise in the rankings is courtesy of a 5th place finish among competition from twenty-one nationally ranked teams at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. Their placement was highlighted by Parker Valby placing first overall as well as three other Florida runners finishing in the top forty including Flomena Asekol, Elise Thorner and Allison Wilson. Lucinda Rourke was the final scorer while Liina Winborn was able to hold off potential scorers for the opposition.
The team totaled 262 points which was enough to beat out No. 4 Notre Dame, No. 8 Washington, and No. 10 Colorado.
