BOCA RATON, Fla. – Ahead of their highly anticipated 2023-24 campaign, the Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team has been ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll, as announced by the AP on Monday afternoon.
Following a season that saw the Owls win the most games in the nation and capture a conference championship as well as their first Final Four berth, the team is rewarded with their first appearance in an AP Top 25 preseason poll.
The Owls are one of 17 teams to open the season in the 2023-24 AP Top 25 after also being ranked in the final AP poll last season, taken before the start of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
During last season, Florida Atlantic was a part of the AP Top 25 for the first time and was on the list five times throughout, reaching as high as No. 19.
Head coach Dusty May and squad will get the opportunity to face off against multiple fellow members of the Top 25 during their non-conference portion of the season. They are set to face off against No. 25 Illinois in the Jimmy V. Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 5 and will play No. 12 Arizona in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 23.
