Florida is one of two programs to have a true freshman on both sides of the ball named to the team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida freshmen Ja’Keem Jackson and Eugene Wilson III were named to the Preseason True Freshman All-American Team for 2023<https://www.on3.com/news/on3-2023-preseason-true-freshman-all-american-team-jaden-rashada-zachariah-branch-caleb-downs/>, On3 announced Tuesday.
Florida is one of two programs in the country to have a freshman named to the On3 All-American Team on both sides of the ball.
Jackson, a native of Kissimmee, Fla., was ranked a consensus four-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN, On3 and Rivals. The 2023 Under Armour All-American tallied five interceptions and six pass breakups his senior season at Osceola High School, leading the Kowboys to the FHSAA State Semifinals with a 10-4 record.
Wilson III was rated as the No. 32 player and a top-five receiver in the 2023 class by On3. The five-star recruit from Tampa, Fla. was invited to the 2023 Under Armour All-American Game and caught 40 receptions for 764 yards with 11 touchdown his snior season at Gaither High School. Additionally, he started both ways his junior year with 925 yards and seven scores receiving along with 23 total tackles, five pass break ups and four interceptions on defense.
The Florida Gators kickoff the 2023 campaign at Utah on Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. ET in Rice-Eccles Stadium.
