The award honors the nation’s top collegiate punter in the FBS.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Gators punter Jeremy Crawshaw was named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List, which honors the nation’s top collegiate punter in the FBS, the Augusta Sports Council announced Wednesday afternoon.
Crawshaw averaged 47.9 yards per punt in 35 attempts last season with 13 50-plus and a season long of 67 vs. South Carolina. Additionally, the native of Australia placed 15 punts inside the opposing 20-yard line. Florida finished fourth in the nation in net punting with an average of 43.4 yards. In Crawshaw’s 89 career punts, 34 have gone for 50-plus and 36 have been inside the opposing 20-yard line for an average of 45.7 yards per punt.
In mid-November, the Ray Guy Award committee will meet to select the ten semifinalists, who will be announced on Nov. 10. A national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will then vote for the top three finalists to be announced on Nov. 22. After the finalists are named, the voting body will cast ballots again to select the nation’s top punter. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in Dec. 2023.
