Diggs adds SEC Outdoor Scholar Athlete of the Year to her growing list of accolades both on and off the track
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gator junior Talitha Diggs was named SEC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Athlete of the Year, by the conference on Wednesday.
Diggs continues to add to her growing list of accomplishments both on and off the track. In the classroom, she holds a 3.68 GPA, double majoring in political science and international studies with a concentration in Asia. Diggs was named a 2021 and 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and a 2021 and 2022 SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
On the track, she is a 7-time All-SEC honoree and a 9-time USTFCCCA All-American. Diggs has earned the title of 2023 SEC Indoor 400m Champion, 2022 World Champion in the 4×400, 2022 USATF Outdoor 400m Champion, 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor 400m Champion, and 2021 SEC Indoor 400m Champion. She also holds 14 spots on UF All-Time Top-10 lists in a variety of events and was the 2023 USTFCCCA Indoor Region Women’s Runner of the Year.
This outdoor season Diggs has competed in six events, finishing in the top-5 of each and finishing first three times. She is ranked fifth nationally in the 100m with a time of 10.96 at the Tom Jones Memorial and is eighth in the 200m with a time of 22.61 at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Diggs is also a member of the Florida 4×100 relay that is ranked sixth in the NCAA (43.23).
Talitha Diggs and the Gators will continue their season on May 11-13 at the SEC Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
