BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women’s basketball alumna Brittany Bowe will be honored at the 2023 Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony, representing the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters, on Thursday, April 27 at 6 p.m. at the Live Oak Pavilion & Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Established in 1985 by the FAU Alumni Association, the Hall of Fame Award recognizes extraordinary alumni who demonstrate exceptional service and commitment to their profession and communities.
Bowe played basketball at FAU from 2006 to 2010 as an everyday starter at point guard. Her senior season, Bowe started all 29 games averaging 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, while earning a spot on the Sun Belt All-Conference Third Team. Bowe is one of nine Owls to belong to the 1,000-point club at FAU and was inducted to the FAU Hall of Fame in 2019.
She is now a professional speedskater and last February, Bowe showed off her exceptional talent on the world’s biggest stage, earning a bronze medal in the 1,000-meter speedskating at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Bowe also placed 10th in the 1,500 meters and 16th in the 500 meters.
