The Owls will need to overcome the departure of Gabriel Rincones, Jr. who accounted for 19 home runs and 69 RBI in his lone collegiate season. The outfield is boosted by the return/addition of Nolan Schanuel who started all 58 games at first base in 2022.

Goldstein (18 HR, 63 RBI) will return in left field but will also see some time in right now that fifth-year senior Mitchell Hartigan is fully healthy. Hartigan missed most of 2022 before returning from injury in May.

Centerfield starts will be between junior Jalen DeBose and Clemson transfer Spencer RichJake Millan will also factor into the outfield equation as well as at first base.

COACH MAC ON THE OUTFIELDERS

“Goldstein or Hartigan, both of whom have played a lot of college baseball, will be in left field. Spencer will be in center with DeBose as an option as well, and Nolan in right. We can also move Nolan to first base, Goldstein to right, and Jalen to left. Mitch will most likely see the most time at DH. So we have options. Overall, I think we’re in a good spot with the outfielders.”

Check back Wednesday for a breakdown of the pitching.
