Sean Dixon-Bodie and Jasmine Moore both won SEC weekly honors for their performances in the triple jump at the Clemson Invite
GAINESVILLE, Fla.- Florida Gators Sean Dixon-Bodie and Jasmine Moore received SEC Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday. Dixon-Bodie earned SEC Men’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week and Moore won SEC Women’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week for their performances in the triple jump at the Clemson Invite.
This past weekend’s meet was Dixon-Bodie’s first meet as a Gator after transferring from LSU. He competed in the triple jump, finishing first overall with a mark of 16.53 (54’2.75″), 0.5 meters ahead of teammate Malcolm Clemons who finished second. Dixon-Bodie’s mark is second in the NCAA this year and just 0.14 meters behind the leading mark in the world this season.
Jasmine Moore continued her historic success in horizontal jumps. She finished first in the triple jump at the Clemson Invite with a mark of 14.44m (47’4.5″), the leading mark in the world this season. Her jump was 0.48 better than the previous world best mark, and helped the Gators complete the men’s and women’s sweep of the triple jump.
The Gators return to action next week when they will take part in the Razorback Invitational on January 27 and 28 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
