The Chicago Bears came to the Motor City to play the Detroit Football Lions. Scored on their first drive with a TD, which Detroit answered with one of their own. Then drove down and stalled in the Red Zone, settling with a FG. Up 10-7 at the end of the first quarter.
The Lions never looked back from that point. The Front 7 Dismantled the Bears Oline with a total of 7 sacks. Lead by Rookie pass rush phenom James ‘Da Problem’ Houston with 3 sacks, Josh Paschal had 2 to join the sack party. Then Comiskey, Hutchinson, and company joined in. Hutchinson also played excellent coverage garnering his 3rd interception of the season. Plus recovered a fumble forced by Houston. They made it so Fields couldn’t use his legs effectively by injuring him in the 2nd quarter. And the Lions poured it on defensively and offensively.
Week 9 was the Lions last Interception. Goff has thrown for a total 15 TDs and 0 INTs within this 7-2 run. Which for 3 1/2 hours gave them the 7th seed in the playoffs. But the Jets imploded and let the Seahawks takeover that game in Seattle. Minnie lost horribly in GB.
So this is making for an epic match up in Week 18 between Detroit as they travel to Green Bay being tied in overall record. The Lions can still make the playoffs with a win against Green Bay and if the Rams can have some Baker magic and beat Seattle. That is a tall task seeing as the game is being played in Seattle.
If Green Bay wins, both the Seahawks and the Lions are eliminated from playoff contention. Ugh. Let’s pray the defense finally travels well as the running game.
Goff had another great game throwing for 255 yards 3 TDs and 0 INTs. The ground game got reestablished as well. As the Lions roared for 264 yards on the ground led by Jamal Williams with 21 carries 144 yards,and is again the league leader with 15 TDs total adding one in Sunday.
Brock Wright had 2 TD receptions, Swift added another receiving as well as one on the ground. We saw Jameson Willaims break off an end around for 41 yards. Showing that electric speed.
