MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today welcomed back two-time World Series champion Jeff Conine as Special Assistant to Marlins Chairman and Principal Owner Bruce Sherman.
In his new role, Conine will work closely with Mr. Sherman and Marlins leadership on a variety of projects, initiatives and key matters pertaining to the Marlins’ operations. He will also participate in special appearances throughout the year with Marlins Members, fans, partners, and at key community outreach and Miami Marlins Foundation events. Additionally, the two-time World Series champion will be available to provide guidance and assistance with players at all levels of the organization.
“Jeff is an icon of the Marlins organization, and we are excited to bring him back ‘home,’” Mr. Sherman said. “His perspective and knowledge of the history of the Marlins franchise and the South Florida community will be invaluable. We look forward to seeing him more at loanDepot park and engaging with our fans and partners.”
Conine will be at loanDepot park on Friday, November 18 at 4 p.m. to participate in the Marlins’ annual Thanksgiving Distribution sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, where he will assist in handing out 1,000 turkeys and additional staples for a traditional family Thanksgiving dinner along with Mr. Sherman, Marlins President of Business Operations Caroline O’Connor, and Marlins outfielder Avisail García. |
