BOCA RATON, Fla. – Coming off of one of the program’s biggest win’s ever, the Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team will host Bryant in the Boca Raton MegaBowl on Thursday. The Owls and the Bulldogs will tip off at 7 p.m. in the newly named Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Thursday, Nov. 17.

FAU TAKES DOWN FLORIDA
On Monday night, the Owls went into Gainesville and knocked off Florida, 76-74, for the first time in school history and FAU’s first Power Five win since 2018. Michael Forrest led FAU with 20 points off the bench including 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Johnell Davis recorded his first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alijah Martin tallied 11 points and six rebounds, including a clutch 3-pointer that put FAU ahead 74-67 with a minute and a half remaining.
STATS AND NOTES
- The Owls shot 13-of-24 (54.2%) from 3-point range in the win over Florida
- FAU has used the 3-pointer to their success this season, shooting 41.3% from long distance on the season to rank 34th in the nation and second in Conference USA
- FAU has displayed unselfish basketball with an average of 18 assists per game to rank 45th in the nation and second in C-USA
- The Owls will be faced with the task of stopping a high-octane Bryant offense, as the Bulldogs are averaging 118.0 points per game to lead the nation
- Davis is averaging 14.3 points per game on an efficient 50% shooting from the field and an even better 57.1% from 3-point range
- Martin is right behind Davis with a clip of 12 points per game on 43.8% shooting from the floor as well as 3-point range
- Vladislav Goldin is the fourth Owl who is averaging double figures with 11.7 points per game on an effective 65.4% shooting from the field
- FAU took good care of the basketball against the Gators, only turning the ball over nine times which is a season-low
PARADISE INVITATIONAL CONTINUES SATURDAY
The Owls will have a quick turnaround, as FAU hosts Detroit Mercy in the second game of the Paradise Invitational on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
