BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University has worn combinations of blue, red and white during the program’s first 21 seasons. On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Owls, who play among the palm trees and whose campus is nestled among the city’s sea foam green and pink buildings, will go dark.
FAU has added an alternate uniform of BLACK, with accents of red and white. While the jersey and pants are black with white writing and red accents, the helmet is red with a black and white stripe, and it pays tribute to the beautiful Boca Raton community with a large palm tree on the back.
This combination will be a first for a fanbase that has grown since the inaugural season in 2001 and now boast the nation’s fifth largest growth over the last five years. Saturday’s game is expected to be a “Spirited Game” not only because of the season, but also because of the weight of the outcome between two teams that have traded wins in the last two meetings, including the 2019 Conference USA Championship game.
