Both teams look for first Southeastern Conference win Sunday. Since 2015, five of the eight UF-UK meetings were decided by a single goal or finished as a tie. Last season, Julianne Leskauskas’ first Gator goal was the golden winner in 1-0 overtime win in Gainesville.
Through the 3-2 loss at Missouri on Oct. 9, nine of the last 11 UF 2022 matches were decided by a single goal (UF 1, Opponent 8). Eight losses by a single goal sets the program’s high. Of the 14 SEC teams, Florida shares league lead with four matches versus United Soccer Coaches top-25 teams through Oct. 9 action.
Three of UK’s SEC 2022 losses were by a single goal – 2-1 vs then No. 15 Mississippi, 3-2 at LSU and 1-0 last Sunday at South Carolina. The Wildcats were 7-1 in non-conference play, including a 6-0 home record in that span. Hannah Richardson is UK’s points leader (17 pts – 4g, 9a) and fellow senior Jordyn Rhodes’ six goals is tops for UK. Tallulah Miller owns three solo shutouts and owns a 2022 goals-against-average of 1.40.

Florida’s two second-half goals weren’t enough as Gators lost 3-2 at Missouri on Oct. 9. It was the second consecutive year UF lost to MU by a 3-2 score.
Missouri scored twice in the opening half. Elena Zuchowski’s goal at 2:01 was the earliest allowed by UF in 2022. Kylee Simmons scored the Tigers’ second in the 29th minutes, jumping on a clearance attempt to score from the middle of the box.
Tessa Barton’s header to score off of Delaney Tauzel’s corner kick ended UF’s scoreless streak at 434 minutes. The Tigers scored their final goal in the 66th minute when Milena Fischer successfully converted MU’s first penalty kick attempt of the season.
UF’s Syd Kennedy scored in the 84th minute on a 14-yard left-footed strike off the assist from Maddy Pirrello for the final margin. UF’s latest two goals of 2022 both came off Kennedy’s left foot (82nd and 84th minute).
