UF WGOLF | Florida Improves in Day Two, Filler Posts Five-Under

Maisie Filler tied for the third lowest round at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate with a 67 (-5).

LAKE ELMO, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team improved in round two of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Royal Golf Club.

The Gators shot a 286 (-2), cutting off six strokes from round one on Monday. UF is +4 and trails third-place Texas by a stroke as Virginia continues to lead the field at 9-under.

Maisie Filler owned the low score for the Gators with a 67 (-5). She highlighted her performance with three consecutive birdies to end the round as she didn’t record a bogey. Her final three birdies were on a par-3 (167 yards), par-4 (406 yards) and par-5 (504 yards).  Filler’s outing leaped her 18 spots to T7 and was tied for the third lowest round among the field.

Also going under-par was Jackie Lucena with a 70 (-2). She began round two with a birdie on 10 and closed out the back nine with her third of the day. A native of Chico, Calif., she finished even on the front and sits 1-under overall in T11.

Tied for 13th, Annabell Fuller is even through 36 holes after she posted the first under-par round for the Orange and Blue yesterday.

Recording a team-high five birdies, Taylor Roberts (T54) also notched the team’s first eagle (par-5, 504 yards) on the year to close out her round with a 75 (+3). Karoline Tuttle is a stroke behind Roberts in 56th.

The Gators tee off the final 18 holes tomorrow at 9:55 a.m. ET.
