BIRMINGHAM – Coming off a signature victory over RV Samford on Thursday, the UAB women’s soccer team will conclude its nonconference schedule on Sunday at Tennessee Tech.
UAB LATELY
Jessica Wheeler’s goal in the 17th minute was all the scoring UAB (3-2-2) needed in its 1-0 victory over crosstown rival Samford on Thursday night. The Blazers are 0-1-2 on the road this season.
TENNESSEE TECH LATELY
The Golden Eagles (2-3-2) defeated Middle Tennessee 3-1 on Thursday. TTU is 1-1-1 at home this season.
THE SERIES VS. TENNESSEE TECH
The teams have met two times beginning in 1996 and again in 2017. UAB won both meetings.

Caroline Kehrer had three points and UAB registered its third shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over Tennessee Tech on Sept. 8, 2017.

UAB TO THE AAC STARTING IN 2022-23
On Thurs., Oct. 21, American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC. They will compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The UAB women’s soccer team will begin AAC play in the 2023 season.
