BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU offensive lineman Quantavious Leslie was among 89 student-athletes listed on the Outland Trophy Watch List as announced by the Football Writers Association of America on Tuesday morning.
The 2022 season marks the 77th anniversary of the Outland Trophy, which recognizes the country’s best interior lineman.
Leslie was among those tasked with protecting C-USA MVP and NCAA record-setting quarterback Bailey Zappe last season. As an offensive line unit, Leslie and the rest of the Tops allowed only 17 sacks on the season, which was 12th best in college football and second best within Conference USA. For his efforts, Leslie was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team, and Pro Football Focus’ All-Conference USA First Team as season’s end.
The recipient of the 2022 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Thurs., Dec. 8. The official presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 11, 2023.
Leslie and the rest of the Hilltoppers kick off the 2022 season on Saturday, Aug. 27, versus Austin Peay.
