Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will join the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Marcia Fudge on her first official visit to Miami-Dade. The Secretary will tour several affordable housing development projects owned or funded by Miami-Dade County directly, as well as key resilience infrastructure projects such as improving local stormwater management and septic-to-sewer conversion. Secretary Fudge’s visit takes place ahead of Mayor Levine Cava’s Housing Summit taking place Thursday, June 30th at loanDepot Park.
“It is an honor to welcome Secretary Fudge on her first official visit to South Florida and share Miami-Dade County’s efforts to address the affordability crisis,” said Mayor Levine Cava. “Miami-Dade has been at the forefront of the housing crisis as one of the least affordable regions in the nation – but we are bringing all sectors and solutions to the table to provide relief for our residents, and look forward to connecting with the Secretary to exchange best practices and ideas.”
